With infectious warmth and wit, Deb writes as she speaks: with authenticity and passion. Faithful to God‘s Word, she relates Scripture to everyday life. Deb will encourage you personally as she speaks truth to you:
Whether it’s a mountaintop moment or a rich chocolate dessert – when you savor something, you delight in it, right? You treasure it, enjoying it to the fullest. You may even hope it will never end! So what can you savor when your latest moments are more “valley” than “mountain”? When the “desserts” on your daily menu seem to be spelled backwards? (Give it a try: s-t-r-e-s-s-e-d.) You’ve tasted a few, haven’t you?
Okay, maybe lately, life’s been light and sweet…but maybe it’s been dark and bitter. It’s likely been a little of both, depending on the day. So what can you and I savor in the sweet and not-so-savory moments? On the mountains and in the valleys? We can savor something that doesn’t depend on the day: God’s sweet grace! “That’s great,” you say… “but what is GRACE?” Grace is God’s favor and forgiveness in Jesus – undeserved and unearned – but given to you and me in lavish supply because that’s how much He loves us! It means that whatever the view or the flavor of our days – no matter where we’ve been or what we’ve done – we have God’s grace. God’s sweet, extravagant grace:
“In [Jesus] we have … the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us.” ~ Ephesians 1:7-8
It’s by His grace that He saves us from our sin, sustains us each day, and satisfies our every need, through faith in Jesus. And God doesn’t just dabble in grace; He lavishes it on us richly! God loves beyond reason and gives beyond anything deserved or justifiable. (Yep, I’ve just defined, “extravagant” for you…and God’s grace too!) Extravagant is the measure of that which we savor.
So what does God have to say to us on those mountains AND in those valleys? About the stressed days AND the desserts? In the sweet moments AND in the bitter ones? Through my ministry, Extravagant Grace, I speak to these and more, encouraging you to examine every part of your lives in the light of God’s grace.

What storms are you facing today? Psalm 46, filled with storm imagery, culminates in verse 10: "Be still and know that I am God…" Truth be told, life's storms take many forms. What's YOUR storm story? Maybe you’ve been showered with turbulent situations unique to you, or maybe you're drenched in a downpour of division caused by sin. Have you been hit with shame or sorrow? How can you possibly “be still” amid any such storm? Here, we'll unpack promises found in Psalm 46 and fulfilled in Christ, the One who hears your cries for help and leads you in truth. Jesus knows your storm; He sees your need; He is your refuge. Be still and know.
In a culture that promotes self-empowerment, we're taught to stand on our own feet, to proverbially "pull ourselves up by our bootstraps." What happens, then, when we trip and fall? When we realize we’re weak? weary? lacking self-strength? Let’s learn to promote a different posture: LEANING. From this posture, we’re reminded that we receive all we need as we lean on Jesus. We’ll learn to surrender our situations to our Savior, relinquish our control to His, and rest in His all-powerful arms.
(Beginning at 44:00), Deb's Keynote presentation during SESSION 5 of KNOWN Women's Conference: ANCHORED. Enjoy praise time with Ayiesha Woods & Friends first!
🔍Who do you lean into when you're seeking strength? wisdom? comfort? 🔍Where do you lean towards for direction? empowerment? peace? 🔍What does Scripture have to say about leaning? (More than you might think!) Let's learn how we can lean well --> when we first lean into the Lord.
