What storms are you facing today? Psalm 46, filled with storm imagery, culminates in verse 10: "Be still and know that I am God…" Truth be told, life's storms take many forms. What's YOUR storm story? Maybe you’ve been showered with turbulent situations unique to you, or maybe you're drenched in a downpour of division caused by sin. Have you been hit with shame or sorrow? How can you possibly “be still” amid any such storm? Here, we'll unpack promises found in Psalm 46 and fulfilled in Christ, the One who hears your cries for help and leads you in truth. Jesus knows your storm; He sees your need; He is your refuge. Be still and know.

Peace in His Presence Podcast Interview: Leaning on Jesus
Are you facing a problem you cannot solve? The world will tell you that if you hustle harder, you can crush all your problems. But you've become crushed and broken—and you wonder why it's not working. You are worn out and weary, and you long for rest. It's a daily struggle for many of us, so Host Michelle Diercks invited Deb Burma to share a devotional from her book, Leaning on Jesus...
CPH Podcast Interview: Leaning on Jesus During the Holidays In this episode of The Concordia Publishing House Podcast, author and speaker Deb Burma talks with host Elizabeth Pittman about what it means to lean in to what really matters as we approach the beginning of a new year. Can there be space for both reflecting on Jesus this season as well as the hustle and bustle of worldly commitments? Listen now to hear her insight into this timely topic and more.
CPH Podcast Interview: "Lean in to Christ" Concordia Podcast Host, Elizabeth Pittman, is joined by Deb Burma for this engaging, timely topic: Many women have heard the call to "lean in" as a rallying cry of empowerment - of achieving their goals and overcoming inequality. While there's nothing wrong with striving for success, what if this call to "lean in" is pointing us in the wrong direction? Where should we be leaning towards for true wisdom, protection, and peace?
Live Presentation Audio Recording at BPM Conference: "Lean on Jesus" In a culture that promotes self-empowerment, we're taught to stand on our own two feet, to proverbially "pull ourselves up by our bootstraps." What happens, then, when we trip and fall? When we realize we’re weak? weary? lacking self-strength? Let’s learn to promote a different posture: LEANING. In this session, we’ll see what Scripture says about leaning…first, on the Lord, and also, on one another. From this posture, we’re reminded that we receive all we need as we lean on Jesus. As we trust Him with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. (Prov. 3:5)
